Instagram allows users to hide posts and stories from specific accounts without unfollowing them. This feature is called "Restrict." Here's how you can hide posts from someone on Instagram using the Restrict feature:
Open the Instagram App: Launch the Instagram app on your mobile device and log in to your account if you haven't already.
Go to the Profile of the User: Navigate to the profile of the user whose posts you want to hide from your feed.
Open the User's Profile: Once you're on their profile, tap the three horizontal dots (⋯) in the upper right corner of their profile page. This will open a menu of options.
Select "Restrict": From the menu, select the "Restrict" option. This action will restrict that user without them knowing, and their comments on your posts will only be visible to them.
Confirm the Restriction: Instagram will ask you to confirm the restriction. Tap "Restrict Account" to confirm. Once you do this, the user will not receive any notifications, and their comments will be hidden from the public view on your posts.
This will hide that user's comments and interactions from your posts without them being notified, making it a discreet way to manage your interactions on Instagram. The user can still see your posts, but their comments will not be visible to others, and their direct messages from you will be moved to Message Request, allowing you to review and decide whether to respond.
Please note that Instagram features and settings may change over time, so it's possible that there have been updates or changes to this feature since my last update in September 2021. Be sure to check the latest Instagram Help Center or app settings for any adjustments or additional options for managing your interactions with other users.
